Heyward House is a premium children’s apparel brand built around original print design and high-quality pima cotton garments. Since launching in 2017, the brand has grown into a multi-season collection focused on timeless, elevated playwear.
As co-founder, I lead end-to-end product and brand development. This includes print design, garment development, and seasonal collections, alongside manufacturing, technical specs, and production oversight. I also manage e-commerce, marketing, and operational strategy, combining creative direction with hands-on execution across the full business.
Sales, Marketing and Technical Design
Seasonal prints and styles are required a year in advance. I am very agile in my transitions from the business requirements. Along with brand identity came all the marketing guides and explanations of technical design. The following are examples of those.
PRINT Design
My wife is from Charleston, SC and has impeccable design sensibilities. She and I brainstorm and generate new ideas for patterns. I create sketches (physical and digital) and continue from there to completion. I utilize different mediums to get to the final iteration such as watercolor, pencil and digital sketches. 
Product Development
After designs, patterns, colors, tech packs, sizing, etc. is complete, we produce samples to show retailers our products. Our manufacturing partner and I work closely together to assure colors, threads and applique are perfect before cutting and sewing. When necessary, I work with an import company to assure our products arrive. After arriving my wife and I perform quality control before shipping is done.
Product and Model Photography
As soon as our shipment arrives product photography is taken and model photography is scheduled (if not already). 
Product Display
A lot of thought and design is put into a very small space for trade shows (both retail and wholesale). We work together to make an inviting yet very utilized space.
We needed a fairly user friendly site so as both me and my wife could alternate using and editing it. We use the Shopify platform for its simplicity and ease of use for both design and order fulfillment.
